Nubia’s debut collection of poetry, Brooklyn Revolt, explores themes of personal experiences of trauma, love, loss, and growth over three decades of life in Brooklyn. Written at various stages of a clinical social worker’s life, it’s a testament that we can all use our voice; we can all rise against our own personal challenges; we can all revolt.

All book proceeds are donated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in honor of Nubia's beloved mother Hope La'Keisha Garvin.

Praise for “Brooklyn Revolt”

She is raw, compassionate and genuine in expressing her feelings through love, sorrow, loss and pain. Through it all, she is not one to give-in to whatever life hits her with. She has a healthy prospective on moving past her childhood trauma, which cause her to be aware of others and forgiving the person. This provided a clear path for future happiness and joy. All because she was brave enough to revolt!
